All loaded and identified (program identification feature) are assigned symbols. Symbols can also be defined from absolute values or from register designations or program names and be added to a displacement value.

Used in conjunction with session recording, you can create reusable scripts that can be edited, saved and re-executed at a later time. The use of symbols without absolute values is required by the Remote Debugging Facility.
